Quick Yoghurt Flatbreads

Ingredients

  • 250g self-raising flour
  • 250g natural yoghurt
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil, optional
  • Extra flour, for dusting
  • Optional Flavour Add-Ins:
  • 1 tsp nigella seeds
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chopped fresh herbs

Method

  1. Add the flour, yoghurt and salt to a bowl.
  2. Mix into a soft dough.
  3. Knead briefly for 1 minute, just until smooth.
  4. Divide into 4 pieces.
  5. Roll each piece into a thin round or oval.
  6. Heat a dry frying pan or griddle until hot.
  7. Cook each flatbread for 1 to 2 minutes per side until puffed and lightly browned.
  8. Wrap in a clean tea towel to keep soft.

Notes

This is the emergency kebab bread recipe. It is fast, reliable and ideal when you need something soft enough to fold around fillings.
